SDI Mechanical Design

Whether you are improving your current product or thinking of new ones, SDI can quickly create conceptual CAD designs from ideas and pencil sketches.  We can then provide formal drawings of full assembly views, parts drawings, and solid models.  Finite Element Analysis can be performed as well.  Our design team focuses on these key goals for any project:

Prototype Manufacture

SDI's fully equipped fabrication facility allows our team to efficiently take a design from fabrication to prototype assembly.  Since our designers and prototypers work together, any problems that arise during this phase are quickly solved.  We can produce one-off parts rapidly with our CNC machines.  SDI can also take your product from its beta stage to large production runs using our network of local shops and fabricators.  We build all specialty manufactured parts and flood our network with routine items, then, assemble, finish and test your final product.  Our In-house manufacturing capabilities include:

 

• Complete machine shop with CNC
• Steel fabrication and welding
• Composite Fabrication Oven (cured 350 degrees, 12 feet)
• Assembly Floor
• Large Stock of Industrial parts and materials

Equipment Rental

All SDI equipment is available for rental through our sister company, Pacific Motion Control, pacificmotion.net, located in Los Angeles, California.
