SDI MOTION CONTROL GANTRY SYSTEMS

We custom design and build each Gantry System to perform precise positioning and maneuverability of image receiving devices based on a customers individual requirements.  Our systems are operated via computer by an operator using motion control industry standard software. A fully equipped system can access an entire area with smooth, fast, and accurate point-to-point operations.

  Gantry Specifications

Speeds up to 6ft/sec linear
Repeatability: match speed +/- .005inch
Truss Spans up to 63 ft.
Carbon Steel Tubing
DC brushless servos throughout
Absolute position feedback
300lb. Image unit capacity
6 axes of freedom

 Standard Travel Ranges

x-axis (truss)   =    60 feet
y-axis (track)   =  200 feet
z-axis (vertical)=    16 feet

Pan,Tilt, Roll =     360 degrees

Move programming can be provided by motion control software, pre-visualization software, or uploaded from CGI formats.  Additionally the system can be taught to move using encoded operator inputs.  The open truss design has: a compact telescopic z-axis, low sag, high stiffness and is mechanically linear for easy programming.

Feature not shown on Schematic:
Attached to the telescoping column would be a L-Style Pan, Tilt, and Roll remote head on which a camera or other device is mounted.  The L-Head is a precision motion control arm, capable of a variety of configurations between two and three axes modes.  It can operate in both over or under slung modes.
